The Falcons Are A Poverty Franchise

I have lived in North Georgia my entire life and have been burdened with being a Falcons fan for as long as I can remember. There have been good moments. The Matt Ryan era brought about some deep playoff runs (please don’t make me talk about 28-3) and fun highlights. Those good moments don’t mask the fact that this franchise is just overall a terrible organization in the NFL. Since losing in the Super Bowl almost a decade ago, the Falcons haven’t had a winning season - while

Thank You Trae Young

Rumors had been circulating for days, but the news of Trae Young getting traded to the Wizards tonight still feels shocking. I’m not sure if it was because of the swiftness of the trade happening or the lack of return the Hawks got for a star player. (The Hawks couldn’t get ONE draft pick for this insanely stacked 2026 draft??) All I know, is that getting Corey Kispert and the expiring contract of CJ McCollum does not feel like enough for Trae Young. In the summer of 2024, I

The Falcons Lose Again, This Time in Germany

Death, taxes, and the Falcons finding new, excruciating ways to lose football games. The Falcons took a 14-13 lead in the second quarter and actually lead the game late into the fourth quarter, but of course found a way to come up short. After I stuck my neck out last week to give Penix credit for his play, he of course had a very poor showing in today’s game. Penix went 12/28 for only 177 yards and had a fumble that was recovered by the Colts. He was extremely inaccurate. He

The Falcons Snatch Defeat From The Jaws of Victory

Sorry if I’ve used this title before, it’s just such a fitting description of how the Falcons happen to play football and lose games. I have so many negative thoughts about the Falcons, but first I want to talk about the positives that happened in today’s game. First, I want to mention that Michael Penix is not highly rated in people’s minds in terms of top quarterbacks or even quarterbacks from the 2024 class. But Michael Penix went in to Foxborough today and nearly outplaye

Falcons EMBARASS Themselves Against the Dolphins

Remember when the Falcons dominated the Bills a few weeks ago at home on Monday Night Football? All of the good feelings are gone. After generating only 10 points of offense against an injured 49ers team, the Falcons hit a new deep low losing by several touchdowns to a 1-6 Dolphins team. Yes, Michael Penix and Drake London were out for the offense but that simply can’t explain the lack of offensive output against the Dolphins today. The Dolphins had given up at least 27 point

Hawks Embarrass Themselves To Start The Season

After finishing below .500 last year and failing to make it out of the play-in, the Hawks decided they needed to make big changes over the summer. The Hawks then went out and got several big name role players and starters from Nickeil Alexander-Walker to Luke Kennard and Kristaps Porzingis. Many reporters and executives around the league said the Hawks had won the offseason and could be a true contender in the East. They must not have let the Hawks players know the season sta

Falcons Blow Opportunity To Beat Depleted 49ers on Sunday Night

After a huge win on Monday night football last week against the Bills, the Falcons had another opportunity in prime time to prove to the NFL they were legit. They did not take the opportunity. The Falcons started off slow, managing only 3 points in the first half. A field goal chance was taken away at the end of half due to an intentional grounding call. The Falcons even intercepted a ball near midfield in the first half but were unable to turn it into any points on the drive

Georgia Gets A Big Win In An Offensive Shootout With Ole Miss

Georgia finally came ready to play (well maybe not Georgia’s defense) and it still took all four quarters for Georgia to beat fifth ranked Ole Miss in Athens. Both offenses started out hot, going a combined 10/11 on 3rd down to start the game and there wasn’t a punt in the first half. Defense was sparse to say the least. At one point in the second half, Ole Miss was up by 9 points and managed to force Georgia into a 4th down situation on their own side of the field. Josh McCr

Falcons Get Statement Win on Monday Night Football

Going against the Bills and their MVP quarterback, Josh Allen, the Atlanta Falcons got a primetime win tonight on Monday Night Football. The two teams traded touchdowns on their respective opening drives, but the Falcons defense was able to restrict the Bills offense for most of the game. After the Bills first drive, they punted on their next four drives and got intercepted in the final minutes of the first half. Josh Allen was frustrated throughout. The Falcons as a whole lo
