Remember all of the good things I wrote about the Falcons last week after their dominant win against the Vikings? Forget all of it.
The Falcons are down 30-0 as I right this and the game isn’t even over. The Falcons didn’t have a chance from the start.
Parker Romo, the star of last week’s game against the Vikings, missed his two field goal attempts just a few days after the Falcons cut Younghoe Koo.
Michael Penix looked so bad, Kirk Cousins had a chance to get some reps in the 4th quarter of today’s game.
Penix completed 50% of his throws, while also completing a few to the other team. One of these interceptions was a bad pick-six that sealed the game.
Even without the interceptions, Penix had plenty of overthrows and seemed out of rhythm all game long.
Bijan Robinson contributed over 100 scrimmage yards on the game, yet it made no difference to the result on the field.
The Falcons seemed unsettled early, getting a delay of game call immediately after calling a timeout the play before.
This is a team that is talented, but young. These mistakes can be corrected by good coaching, something I feel the Falcons lack.
The Falcons play a tough Commanders team at home next week. They have a lot to correct if they want to get back to .500
