Georgia Gets A Big Win In An Offensive Shootout With Ole Miss

Georgia finally came ready to play (well maybe not Georgia’s defense) and it still took all four quarters for Georgia to beat fifth ranked Ole Miss in Athens.

Both offenses started out hot, going a combined 10/11 on 3rd down to start the game and there wasn’t a punt in the first half. Defense was sparse to say the least.

At one point in the second half, Ole Miss was up by 9 points and managed to force Georgia into a 4th down situation on their own side of the field.

Josh McCray was able to scratch and claw his way to a first down and Georgia was able to do the same to get the win today at home.

Gunner Stockton had an amazing game on the ground and through the air. He finished the game with 5 total touchdowns, 348 total yards, and zero turnovers.

Three of those touchdowns were thrown to Lawson Luckie, the two tight ends for Georgia being key contributors throughout the game.

Even though Georgia’s defense struggled, they managed to come up big in the 4th quarter - forcing two punts and a turnover on downs to end the game.

Georgia has made it a habit of coming back after being down in games, and they did yet again today by outscoring the Rebels 17-0 in the 4th quarter.

This Georgia team is flawed. They start games slow. They don’t consistently rush the quarterback and they have coverage issues in the secondary.

Despite these flaws, they are a team that never gives up and performs their best when it matters the most in the biggest moments.

Georgia still has very important games coming up this year against rivals such as Florida, Georgia Tech, and even a Texas team getting better by the week.

But if this Georgia team shows the resiliency that they showed today, I like their chances against any team they play going forward.
