Last week, the Falcons struggled to get anything going on the ground against the Buccaneers in a week one loss.
That was certainly not the case this week as Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier combined for 219 rush yards against the Vikings.
Michael Penix had an anonymous game with 135 yards and no touchdowns, but JJ McCarthy probably wishes he had had just an anonymous game.
After playing one good quarter against the Bears last Monday night, McCarthy could not pull out the same magic this week.
JJ McCarthy had zero touchdowns, two interceptions, and also had a fumble. He was pressured and didn’t look comfortable all night.
The Falcons defense deserves a lot of credit, not just for the three turnovers, but also the six sacks it had. The pressure was constant.
Even with the run game going, the Falcons struggled to get in the endzone. Luckily the Falcons had just signed Parker Romo.
Romo went 5/5 on field goals after being signed midway through the week.
Younghoe Koo was benched and did not travel with the team after he missed a game tying field goal last week in the final seconds against the buccaneers.
Tyler Allgeier scored the first touchdown of the game with just a few minutes left to make the score 22-6. This would be the final score.
This is a strong win on the road in a tough environment for the Falcons. Especially on a night when Michael Penix Jr. didn’t have to do too much.
If the Falcons run game and defense can look this good on a consistent basis - look out - it’s going to be an exciting season for Falcons game.

McCarthy just had a kid and you’re shredding him. Do you hate fathers?
