As the clock went down to zero, Kirby Smart knew that he had secured his 100th career win as a head coach.

Smart talked about the players resilience and determination throughout the game, even telling the reporter how no one from her network picked UGA.

He was right. Throughout the entire week I didn’t see a single podcast host, analyst, or college gameday picker choose Georgia to win. Just look at the graphic.

Texas came in overhyped. All they had really done was beat two teams in Oklahoma and Michigan that we're learning shouldn’t even be ranked.

Yes, Georgia has not played great at times during the season, but it’s almost as if everyone forgot Georgia has won two national championships in the last three years.

Georgia heard all the “rat poison” as Saban calls it and came into Texas ready to play. Georgia seemed battle tested and Texas did not.

After giving up way too many points to Mississippi State last week, Georgia’s defense looked like a whole new unit against Texas.

Georgia got 7 sacks and several turnovers. It may have been a completely different outcome without the great defensive play.

Even with the big win, Georgia still has several questions that need to be answered if they want to be a true contender.

How can they get Beck playing better? He threw for under 200 yards, no touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. That won’t cut it going forward.

Why are we not running the ball more? Etienne had all three touchdowns and almost averaged 10 yards per carry in the first half. We should have fed him more.

The Dawgs have big games left on their schedule. Tennessee at home and Ole Miss on the road. Even rivalry games with Florida and Georgia Tech.

However it plays out, Georgia and Texas could possibly even have a rematch in the SEC championship. It’s all on the table.

Georgia passed a major test in Austin, let’s hope they build on this win and get better as the season goes on.
